WaveTank is an interactive two-dimensional wave simulator that runs locally in Firefox.
Click the field to create ripples, paint reflective walls, place continuous wave sources, or add absorbing regions. Waves propagate across the grid, reflect from barriers, overlap with other waves, and form visible interference patterns.
Wave speed, source frequency, damping, and brush size can be adjusted while the simulation is running. Built-in experiments include a double-slit setup, standing waves, a random rain field, and a resonance box.
WaveTank also includes center-pulse and storm controls for quickly disturbing the field, plus a Zen mode that hides the interface and leaves only the simulation canvas.
The simulator works without an account, network connection, or external service.
