SafeBrowz is an AI-powered scam and phishing protection extension that checks every page you visit in real time and warns you before you get caught. It uses a 4-layer detection engine: local pattern analysis, security database lookups (Google Safe Browsing, PhishTank, URLhaus), AI brand impersonation detection, and a crowd-powered shared cache.
What it detects:
• Phishing sites and credential theft pages
• Brand impersonation (banks, airlines, telecom, crypto wallets, government portals)
• Crypto wallet drainers and fake dApps
• Fake tech support pop-ups (Microsoft, Apple "SIU")
• Government service scams (HMRC, IRS, DMV, social security)
• AI deepfake celebrity giveaway scams
• QR code phishing (quishing)
• Fake USPS / DHL / Amazon / PayPal messages
• Fake browser updates and CAPTCHA scams
• Typosquatting and punycode domain tricks
• Clickjacking and pastejacking attacks
• Free hosting abuse (217+ platforms tracked)
How it works:
A small shield icon sits in the corner of every page you visit. Green means safe. Yellow means caution. Red means leave the site. Click the shield to see a full security report with domain age, SSL status, and all the checks that ran. Most scans complete in under 100ms via local rules and shared cache.
Privacy first:
No personal data is collected, stored, or sold. No accounts needed. No tracking. Only URLs of suspicious sites are sent to security databases for verification. Your browsing history never leaves your browser.
Languages:
Full English and Arabic UI with right-to-left layout support. Scam detection works across 100+ website languages, not just the UI.
