Alex if your listening is there any chance of you updating this to work will latest version of FF or have you stopped development?

Use Go To Parent Folder instead. It is up to date, works great and compatible with FF 3.5-3.7

A nice complement to this is Show Parent Folder
FF 3.0-3.7

I've been really wanting this feature. Once you find a bookmark by searching in the manager or typing part of it in the address bar, there's no way to find it in the bookmark manager to modify it.

Someone, please update this for the new versions of Firefox!

thx pms! Go To Parent Folder (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/7377) does EXACTLY what you'd think should be included in FF3 by default. Very annoying looking for a misfiled bookmark among 3000+ entries! (Boox was overkill for just this simple. requirement)

Also see Boox (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2615) for replacement.

For those who seek for a replacement: there is extension called Go To Parent Folder.

Great extension, should be a built in feature of Firefox. I wish it was updated to work in 3.5+.

It is ridiculous that this isn't built in to Firefox, but since it isn't, this is a very important extension for me. I _really_ miss not having this in FF3. Someone please make it so!

used it for ages Rated 5 out of 5 stars

shame its not been updated in a while, and don't work in FF3

so this finally finds a file in a folder (even shows what folder it was in) if thats the case why didnt fireox add this in the first place. I'll check it out

FF3 needs you! Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Help! This is exactly the answer for my GRIPE about bookmarks search, namely the fact that you can't tell what ff-ing folder the bookmarks are in.
But without this working for ff3, I'll have to try the others mentioned....

Used it until FF3 Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Now that it doesn't work with FF3 even after bumping up the MaxVersion, I had to find the alternative "Go Parent Folder" which works just about the same.

DOES locate bookmark folder!!!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Thank Godness, i was lucky to find the addon!!
And thank the author, Alex Muntean!!! You did a very good job.
It DOES locate bookmark folder!!!!

Well, i do sign too with others by the words:

- " I looked for, well, way too long ;^) "

- " Should have been included in Firefox as a natural! "
A musthave extension if you use bookmarks!!!

- "Go Parent Folder" and "Show Parent Folder" don't care about FF2 users!! Targeted useful feature is unaccessible in FF2.

- I don't want to be forced to go FF3 just because i can't manage thousands of bookmarks proper way!!!
I almost sure this extension will be FF3 when FF3 comes tested thoroughly and my other extensions will be ready for FF3.

- " Yes I cannot also believe that this isn't built into firefox. Its just common sense to have a locate feature to find where the heck you grouped a particular bookmark.
Great work btw! "

Great add-on, it is exactly what I was looking for! Thank you!

A better addon is here! Rated 1 out of 5 stars

These work for FF3 and are more functional than this extension.

Go Parent Folder

Indispensable-Excellent Tool Rated 5 out of 5 stars

After upgrading to Firefox 3, I am missing this add-on very much!
After searching for and opening a bookmark, you can find out what folder it is in by double clicking the star at the end of the address bar. You can then click on the drop-down menu and it will tell you where that folder is in relation to your other bookmarks folders. But it will not take there like this add-on does. Very cumbersome!
Please, please upgrade your add-on for Firefox 3!
