I was thinking about fit too window too already, let's see when I get the time... The background color doesn't switch when you change it from the toolbar button (it's bug in Firefox that the panel gets closed, see https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1378527) but when you go to the options page using ctrl-shift-a it works.
