It's been a while since the last review, so I think it's worth noting that this add-on is still working in FF50, with e10s
Though the item appears in the menu, it does nothing and does not work even with DOM inspector already open on FF 40.0.2.
This Add-on replaces some others: Element Inspector, Inspector Widget and ....
Because this Add-on is fired (started) from the right-click context menu and not a button, it is easy to 'inspect' elements in a menu or sub-menu of the chrome UI (firefox user interface)... But.. to 'inspect' the context menu it's self, you'll still want to use the icon launched (using Shift+right-click) DOM 'InspectorWidget'. This add-on tries to do it, but it's not as 'good' at it.
ps. I'm not saying anything bad about the others. They work and I have and do use them...
Firefox now has it's own inspect context menu entry but his add-on allows you to easily inspect context menu entries themselves!
Unfortunately e.g. the sub-menu for the spell checker dictionaries cannot be inspected.
The inspect entry is at the top of the context menu. I'd rather have it together with the inspect entry of Firefox. This add-on's entry cannot be moved with Menu Editor. I would appreciate this possibility.
This add-on has been an essential tool for me for Firefox add-on development, web development in general, and for my own personal Firefox customizations and tweaking.
Inspecting context and other types of menus used to mean looking at the page source, style sheets, etc, but now I have one click, quick access.
Thanks for developing it.
Your time and efforts are greatly appreciated.
Mad to keep a context menu opened. The solution to catch the icon is here, thanks for this.
Thanks for updating for FF4. This tool is extremely useful for chrome development.
Inspect Context comes into it's own with probing popupset menus let alone drop.
In terms of work flow for addon development I find it a must have.
Excellent idea, and works great on 3.6.6
The install.rdf has 3.0.* listed as the max version so just change it to 3.* and re-XPI it and it works just fine. If anyone knows how to contact the developer so the change could be made officially, that would be wonderful. The only contact information listed is a geocities page.
Excellent addon max1million ! Please update for ff 3.6* and up as soon as possible.
Thankyou very much.
Essential add-on for extension developers. Should be part of DOM Inspector. Works even for chrome elements not only for content.
A great addon to DOM Inspector. Takes you directly to what you are interested in.
Powerful tool. I can find items that are usually difficult to suss out.
I would like to see this extension's functions operate in such subsidiary windows as View Source, Add-ons, Library, etc.
A must-have extension for a theme developer.
DOM Inspector node selection system is really boring. This addon save me a loooot of click. This feature should really included in the DOM Inspector...
Makes DOM Inspector better and easier to use. Very helpful for extension/theme development. Thanks.
Looks very simple, but in fact it's very practical, in order to customize browser or web pages.
A perfect partner for Stylish (in my case).
Thanks max1million for all your extensions and your useful website.
