It is very useful on 13 inch notebooks.
Hello, you and your app saved my life, because I searched through the web for an app, where I can upload a few pictures to my Instagram account via Firefox, but I found nothing at all.
And shortly before I gave up, I found your fast and small app and it works just perfectly, you press the button, all changes to the mobile and then you can upload a few pictures to instagram.
Have many thanks, you did a perfect job.
After reinstalling firefox and again installing the go-mobile addon. The icon is not showing in the status bar for some reason. Browser: Firefox 46.0
I can't find the icon on menu bar，how to set？the firefox ersion is 36
This is a great addon to reduce your browsing data. On top of that, it's simple! Only thing it lacks is an exceptions list function.
I've used other addons that do the same thing but have 82 different options. This one is extremely simple to use, especially if all you want is the mobile version of a website.
gr8 add, speed up browsing experience.
so far 1 problem:
opens youtube page but cant watch or play any videos.
hope there is a solution/fix for this on next update.
i done some reasearch for this poblem and found this ppl are also working on this bug for mobile browsing...(nt sure if it helps)
thx for this addon once again, just hope you can twick it to perfection
Nice, I like it. The only thing I'd like to see added is to have it enabled for certain sites, and not have to click it on/off everytime for this or that site.
I found this quite useful, did precisely what it said on the tin.
However (as someone suggested a year or so ago) I have no way to activate this. The button has recently disappeared. I'm using Firefox 30 (and I don't think that has an addons bar any more).
can not view video on youtube cuz of vnd-youtube protocol
This should work in the beta (See Development Channel section), albeit a non-ideal solution. It should be working a lot better in the next release.
It is already good but there's something that makes me sad, it's because I can't set the mobile setting per tab. I don't want to use go-mobile for the whole window (and even other windows especially private ones) because I just one to enable it in one tab only, not all tabs
I will try to add it to the next release. Thanks for the suggestion!
I always loved the simplicity of the addod: just click and it's activated.
I love the new features in version 2.2.6, specially the fact that you can choose the phone type!
I'm sure this is cool and its just a recent small bug, but it looks like the button has gone missing making it impossible to use... I will keep it installed and hope for an update soon. Thanks for your work.
Hi, could you email me at goMobileFirefox ( at ) gmail ( dot ) com and let me know which version of Firefox you are using?
One thing you might check is to make sure the addon-bar is visible. You can do that by pressing Ctrl + / or by going to the menu and clicking on View --> Toolbars --> Add-on Bar. (Or Preferences --> Add-on Bar if you have the menu bar hidden.)
Edit: Problem Solved! Previously Go-Mobile did not work with private-browsing mode. This is now fixed.
Thanx! thanx! thanx! for this add on. This is the add on i was really needing extremely because of my dead slow dial up connection. Lots of Thanx to the developer once again to develop this add on. Just please keep developing and support for this add on forever in the future.
I would kiss the developer on his cheek if he was in front of me! Sadly i can't give more than 5 stars!
I found this to be a fantastic product that allows testing of mobile web experience, and speeds up web browsing when you are in a low bandwidth environment.
After trying a Mozilla xpi file I found this fairly simple to use. It took me a few moments to find the small mobile phone icon which toggles the web extension/add-on on and off. On my screen it located on bottom right hand side of the screen. By default it has a prohibited sign super imposed, but once clicked that’s removed and is surrounded by a green background. If you can’t find this or the add-on bar go to menu->view->toolbars->add-on bar or press CRTL / and away you go.
Einfach und Perfekt
This is a great addon. It would be great if it could remember settings per webpage, per website, per domain name. This is easily doable. The addon "Mobile Firefox" already does it.
Suggestion by another user to force reload page is also good.
May I now suggest 2 features which will make it much more than a user agent changer
1) Allow us to choose the background color and text color of a page in the settings
2) Allow us to choose whether to show pictures(and flash) at all.
The above features will make it into a readability tool as well.
Remembering settings per webpage/website will be available in the next release. Mobile Firefox 1.0.0 is actually a pre-release of the next version of Go-Mobile by another developer, and these features do not work in it either. Reloading the page when you switch from mobile to not mobile will also be in the next release. Concerning the two features you suggested, I am not sure whether I will add these features or not, mainly because it seems to be a little beyond the scope of this addon. I believe there are already other addons that have these features too, but I will consider it. The next release of Go-Mobile was originally planned for the end of February, but I got sick and there were some other setbacks, but hopefully it will be released by the end of March/early April. Edit: There had been a delay in the development of Go-Mobile. But it is now a work in progress again, with the deadline for the next release being July 18, 2013.
A wonderful idea and the add works perfectly!
I thought it wouldn't work but this little addon proved to be the most useful i have. Who wants all those irrelevant photos and videos playing automatically? I know i hate them.
i am not able to use this what can i do
It is a cell-phone icon in the lower right-hand corner. (It has a red "no" symbol on it when it is off.) If you click on that it will turn on, and if you click it again it will turn back off. (Though you will need to reload the page to see the difference.)If you still cannot find it, go to the menu View --> Toolbars and make sure that Add-on Bar is checked.Sorry that it is hard to find, in the next release it will be a lot easier.
its SUPER FAST!!!! and sssssooooooo awesome!!!!!!!
Hey this is a good idea and I appreciate that it's restartless.
One thing that would help to make it even better is to force a page reload when toggling between user agents.
NoScript and Cookie Monster are a few that have this feature. Perhaps you could grab the coding from one of them.
If I knew how, I'd tell you. :)
Thanks for developing this.
Good Idea! I will put it in the next release. Thanks!
Sorry, for a long time I didn't have the opportunity to write in English, so propably that's why you didn't understand me.
I was thinking about possibility of adding sites or domains to the list by the user. To the list where sites won't be opened in the mobile version, althoug they have that possibility.
It's just becouse many sites works better normally, like Google Reader.
Or like iGoogle wchich in mobile version id redirected to simple Google site.
Great idea! I will put that in the next release. (Which might be awhile, I am new to making addons and this is my first one.)
I tested Go-Moble on my moble Nexus 7 and compared it with Go-Moble on my PC and indeed, suddenly moble and PC look like twins. Highly recommended.
