X Thread to Markdown. Autor: YouKyi

Adds a "Markdown" button to any post page on x.com. One click gives you the
whole conversation as a Markdown file, in your clipboard, or both.

WHAT YOU GET

• The post, plus the author's full self-thread
• The reply tree, nested and in order
• Quoted tweets, including quotes of quotes
• Images at original resolution, with their alt text
• Videos and GIFs as direct links
• Long-form posts in full not truncated at "Show more"
• Links expanded from t.co to their real destination
• YAML frontmatter with author, date, metrics and tags

Frontmatter fields are flat and typed, so Obsidian reads them as sortable
properties rather than plain text.

HONEST ABOUT WHAT IT MISSED

Every export records whether it is the complete conversation. A "collection"
field tells you if collecting reached the end. Where X's own counters say a
reply exists that could not be loaded deleted, hidden, or behind a control
that would not open the document says so at that exact spot rather than
quietly ending the branch.

A partial archive you know about is useful. One you believe is complete is not.

PRIVACY

Nothing leaves your browser. The extension makes no network requests of its
own: it reads the responses x.com has already loaded for the page you are
looking at, converts them, and writes the result to your clipboard or your
Downloads folder. There is no telemetry, no analytics, and no server.

The code ships unminified, so what you install can be read.

PROMOTED CONTENT

Ads injected into conversations are dropped. They are not replies, and their
reply counts would otherwise distort the completeness figures.
