Video Frame Grid Autor: Sumit

Video Frame Grid captures evenly-spaced frames from any video and displays them as a contact sheet. Quickly scan an entire video to decide if it's worth watching, or jump straight to the moment you're looking for.

HOW TO USE:
1. Click the extension icon and toggle it on for the current site
2. The page reloads and the grid appears next to or below the video
3. Click any thumbnail to seek the video to that timestamp
4. The grid auto-regenerates when you navigate to a new video

THREE VIEWS:
- Side view — grid sits next to the video, matching its height
- Below view — grid sits below the video in 3 columns
- Floating view — draggable panel for sites with unusual layouts
The extension picks the best view automatically, but you can switch anytime from the popup or the view-toggle button on the grid.

SMART CAPTURE:
- iOS-style scroll-wheel picker for setting the frame interval (1-60 sec/min/hrs)
- Uses requestVideoFrameCallback for accurate frame capture
- Detects and re-captures duplicate frames
- Customizable keyboard shortcut (default: Alt+G)

PRIVACY:
- No data collection
- No network requests
- No tracking, no analytics
- Stores only your preferences (enabled domains, interval) in local browser storage
- Frame capture is done entirely in your browser using HTML5 Canvas

WORKS WITH:
Standard HTML5 video, blob URLs, HLS/DASH streams (without DRM), YouTube (with SPA navigation handling), Vimeo, and most other video sites.

DOES NOT WORK WITH:
DRM-protected video (Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video, Hulu) — browsers intentionally block canvas frame capture for these.
