SIDE-EX is an add-on (extension) for browsers that enables an interactive explanation layer that enhances user experience - in their own language.

The extension allows users to get brief explanations of unfamiliar scientific, expert terms without leaving what they are currently reading or studying, and staying in focus.

How it works:

1. By selecting a word or set of words, which immediately displays a small "Explain" button nearby, and
2. when clicked, the unfamiliar term is highlighted in orange
3. A bubble pops up next to it with a brief AI-generated explanation
4. In the lower right corner of the bubble, there's a small "MORE" button for those who want a broader explanation—it leads to another page with artificial intelligence (e.g., ChatGPT) where that term is already entered for clarification.
5. In the lower left corner, there's a button marked ABC where you can select the language in which the explanation is displayed, although automatic user language recognition already exists
6. When you click outside the bubble, it disappears and you can continue reading without interruption
7. The explained term remains lightly colored (orange) so the user can return to read the term again
8. If they want to read it again, the user simply clicks that lightly colored term, and the bubble pops up again with the explanation
