Shaghal Autor: Unblock Syria

Shaghal opens beside any website and shows whether it works from Syria. Vote for the services you need, report which parts work and which fail, and help keep the record accurate. Free and open source, from Unblock Syria.

WHAT IT DOES
• See the site's status as recorded by Unblock Syria (usable, blocked or not yet checked) and when it was last checked.
• Vote: press "I need this" on a service that doesn't work from Syria. The most-voted services are the first we take to their companies.
• Report what works: mark each part you tested and add a note or a screenshot. Reports go to a review queue; they don't change public listings directly.
• Suggest a correction to a service's details, or add a site that isn't tracked yet. The name and address fill themselves in.
• English and Arabic, with a right-to-left layout.

PRIVACY
• It doesn't read the page. It sees the tab's address and title, and the page itself only in a screenshot you choose to take.
• It looks pages up only while the sidebar is open. Close it and lookups stop.
• Browser pages, IP addresses and local networks are never looked up.
• Screenshots: crop and black out details in the sidebar before sending. The original never leaves your computer; only the edited image is uploaded.
• No account needed. An email is optional and stays in your browser.
• Needs access to websites to check the page you're on and to take screenshots. Sends are verified with Cloudflare Turnstile.
