RainProxy browser extension: privacy policy
The extension lets you connect your browser to your own RainProxy proxy plan.
What it stores on your device: your RainProxy sign-in (a session token or API key), your chosen plan, location and session settings, your bypass list and your light/dark preference. This stays in the browser's extension storage and is removed when you sign out or uninstall the extension.
What it sends to RainProxy: your sign-in token or API key, to load your account and plans from RainProxy's API (b2.rainproxy.io). When you choose "Sign in with RainProxy", the extension reads your dashboard session on dashboard.rainproxy.io, only after you clicked that button.
Your traffic: while you are connected, your browser's traffic is routed through RainProxy's proxy gateways and the residential exit you chose. RainProxy does not log the content of this traffic. Connection metadata (time, destination domain, data volume) is kept for up to 30 days for billing and abuse prevention. Sites in your bypass list and RainProxy's own sites always use your own connection.
IP check: to show your current IP, city and ISP, the extension makes a request through the proxy to an IP-information service; that service sees the proxy's IP, not yours.
No analytics: the extension contains no analytics, advertising or tracking code, and we do not sell or share extension data.
