MedPrism
MedPrism is an AI-powered Firefox extension that helps physicians, researchers, and scientifically literate readers assess the methodology, transparency, and publication integrity of medical research papers — directly on a Android phone or tablet.
What MedPrism Does
When you encounter a research paper in Firefox, MedPrism analyzes the full text and delivers:
A plain-language Briefing summarizing what the paper claims and how it was conducted
A tiered Assessment: Read Carefully, Read Critically, or Use With Caution
Flagged Items highlighting potential concerns across methodology, statistical reporting, conflict of interest disclosure, funding transparency, journal credibility, and publication integrity
A Transparency Disclosure summary covering pre-registration, data availability, COI statements, and funding sources
A detailed Full Report with section-by-section analysis
MedPrism works on PubMed pages, journal websites, and any page containing research article text. It also accepts PubMed IDs (PMIDs) and DOIs to fetch full-text articles automatically where available.
Important Limitations
MedPrism assesses research integrity signals — it does not evaluate scientific validity or determine whether a study's conclusions are correct. All outputs are advisory only and do not constitute professional medical, scientific, or legal review. Users accept sole responsibility for any decisions made based on MedPrism results.
Access
MedPrism is currently invitation-only and intended for private beta use by a limited group of medical and research professionals. Access codes are provided by the developer at no charge, at the developer's discretion. There are no in-app purchases and no fees of any kind within the app.
