Limpid AI - Summarizer & Chat with Any Page Autor: Jeed

Limpid turns any web page into clear text. Press a shortcut and an elegant panel opens over the page: the summary writes itself in front of you, the original article appears stripped of menus, ads and clutter, and you can ask the AI anything without leaving the page.

What Limpid does

• Summary in one shortcut. Alt+Shift+S (Ctrl+Shift+S on Mac) or one click on the icon: a structured summary in seconds, with key points and a one-line takeaway.
• Distraction-free reading. The Distraction-free tab shows the article stripped of ads and navigation; open it in its own tab for a quiet, full-page read.
• Chat in context. Ask a question about the article, request an explanation, a translation, a fact check: the AI answers from the page content, and the conversation goes on as long as you need.
• Your own instructions. The prompt behind the summary and the chat is plain text you can edit in the settings: structure, tone, focus, length, reading level.
• Comfortable reading mode. Expand the panel: reading on the left, chat on the right, a wide airy text column, in light or dark theme.
• Local history. Every summarized page is remembered with its conversation. Come back to the page: everything is there, with no new API call. The History tab lists all your readings, with search, one-click reopening and per-page deletion.
• Copy in one click. The summary, the clean text or the conversation, as formatted text (or Markdown, in the settings).

Your prompt, your way

The instructions given to the AI are yours to edit, in the settings, as plain text: one prompt for the summary, one for the chat. Ask for shorter or longer summaries, a structure of your own (key figures first, a one-line verdict, a glossary of terms), a tone (neutral, critical, playful), a reading level, or the angle that matters to you (numbers, sources, counter-arguments). The default prompt, with key quotes and a takeaway line, is a starting point: your version is kept across updates, and the default comes back in one click.

Your key, your model

Limpid works with your own API key from Anthropic (Claude), OpenAI, Mistral or Alibaba Cloud (Qwen). You choose the provider and the model, pick the language of the summaries and set their length. No account, no subscription, no middleman server: you pay your provider per use, a few cents per article.

Privacy

• Your API key and history are stored only in your browser.
• Page text is sent only to the provider you chose, with your own key, and only when you ask for it.
• Limpid accesses a page only when you activate it, collects no data and contains no trackers.

Compatibility

Chrome, Brave and Firefox. Works with Anthropic's Claude models, OpenAI's models, Mistral's models and Qwen; the list of available models loads from your own account. Interface in English and French; summaries and answers in the language of your choice (your browser's language by default, or the language of the page).

Known limits

Browser internal pages, the Chrome Web Store and PDFs opened in the built-in viewer cannot be summarized. On highly dynamic pages, extraction may be partial.

On Chrome, Limpid also works without a key, thanks to the browser's built-in AI.
