Privacy Policy for Kaspersky Protection Extension for Kaspersky Free Antivirus (“KFA”), Kaspersky Antivirus (“KAV”), Kaspersky Antivirus for Mac (“KAV” for Mac), Kaspersky Internet Security (“KIS”), Kaspersky Total Security (“KTS”), Kaspersky Security Cloud (“KSC”), Kaspersky Small Office Security (“KSOS”), Kaspersky Free, Kaspersky Basic, Kaspersky Standard, Kaspersky Plus, and Kaspersky Premium.
This Privacy Policy describes handling of user data by the respective Kaspersky Protection Extension ("Extension") for Kaspersky Free Antivirus ("KFA"), Kaspersky Antivirus ("KAV"), Kaspersky Antivirus for Mac ("KAV" for Mac), Kaspersky Internet Security ("KIS"), Kaspersky Total Security ("KTS"), Kaspersky Security Cloud ("KSC"), Kaspersky Small Office Security ("KSOS"), Kaspersky Free, Kaspersky Basic, Kaspersky Standard, Kaspersky Plus, and Kaspersky Premium (each of them a "Product"). The Extension supplements the respective Kaspersky Product, which handles data in accordance with the agreements, statements, and/or policies applicable to the specific Product.
Details about the functions of the Product and the user data the Extension will transmit to the respective Product are described in Section 1 of this Privacy Policy. If You do not have some of the functions in Your Product, the corresponding paragraphs of Section 1 below do not apply to You.
In this Privacy Policy, AO Kaspersky Lab (hereinafter "Kaspersky", "Rightholder", or "we") provides information about data processing, in particular, the purposes of data processing, which data is processed, data protection standards, and the rights of data subjects. For more information, please read our Kaspersky Products and Services Privacy Policy at https://www.kaspersky.com/Products-and-Services-Privacy-Policy. This Privacy Policy prevails over any conflicting sections of the Kaspersky Products and Services Privacy Policy.
The data processed by the Extension will be processed in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
1. Purposes of Processing and Processed Data
- The Extension processes data as described in this Section 1 "Purposes of Processing and Processed Data" for the declared purposes. This data may be considered personal according to applicable laws of certain countries. The Extension will neither share nor transmit any user data automatically to Kaspersky. While operating, it interacts solely with the respective locally installed Product.
- To categorize links on a webpage and notify You about categories of web resources that links lead to as well as the level of danger they pose, the following data will be transmitted to the Product: all URLs from the current webpage.
- To block banners shown on visited websites and to display statistics, the following data will be transmitted to the Product: the URL of the current webpage, the total number of blocked banners.
- To prevent third-party websites from tracking Your browsing activities, the following data will be transmitted to the Product: the URL of the current webpage.
- To check webpages for phishing and to block phishing webpages, the following data will be transmitted to the Product: the URL of the current webpage, content of the current webpage.
- To check webpages for malware and to block webpages containing malware, the following data will be transmitted to the Product: the URL of the current webpage.
- To check and notify You whether the same passwords are used for different web resources, the following data will be transmitted to the Product: domain of the current webpage, hash of the password.
- To block access to certain categories of websites based on their content and to create a list of exclusions, the following data will be transmitted to the Product: the URL of the current webpage.
- To check and notify You about the cryptographic strength of a new password entered while creating/restoring an account on a web resource, the following data will be transmitted to the Product: content of the current webpage including information you enter in web forms.
- To check Your accounts for leaks and breaches and to notify You about it, the following data will be transmitted to the Product: the login and content of the current webpage including information you enter in web forms.
- To open a website in a special browser mode designed to protect your data, the website’s cookies will be transmitted to the Product.
- If You click the "Inform" button in the "Inform about suspected phishing" window of the Extension, then in order to increase the protection level of the Product and/or the Extension, the following data will be transmitted to the Product: URL of the current website as well as of websites that redirect to the current website; the name, version, and unique installation ID of the application; unique ID of the device on which the application is installed.
- If you click the button "Inform" in the "Inform about website problem" window of the Extension, then in order to improve the quality of the Product and/or the Extension, the following data will be transmitted to the Product: message text describing a problem with the website, URL of the current website; browser name and version; name, version, and unique installation ID of the application; unique ID of the device on which the application is installed.
- We use the highest level of standards for data protection and apply a variety of legal measures and best practices in order to protect user data, guarantee safety and confidentiality, and ensure the rights of users. In addition, we delete or anonymize personal data whenever the purpose for their processing has expired, there are no legal requirements to keep them, or whenever it is practical to do so.
