O tym rozszerzeniu
IG Grab saves Instagram media to your own computer at the highest quality Instagram serves. It's a local tool
nothing leaves your machine, no third-party server, no account or sign-up.
What you can download
- Single posts, reels, and carousels (multi-image posts are saved as a ZIP)
- Stories and highlights, including cover images
- Entire profiles: every post, story, highlight, repost, and the profile picture in one archive
- Tagged posts, reposts, and saved collections
- Followers and following lists as text files
- Post comments as text files
- Direct message threads, including media and a rendered chat image
Features
- Right-click "Save with IG Grab" on any post, reel, profile picture, or story
- Toolbar popup: find every piece of media on the current page and pick what to save
- Full-profile archive with a built-in HTML viewer (profile_viewer.html) so you can browse your saved content offline
- Incremental re-runs: skip posts you already downloaded
- Crash-safe resume: if a long archive run is interrupted, it picks up where it left off
- Batch mode: queue multiple usernames and let it run
- Optional split ZIPs (profile / posts / stories / highlights) for very large archives
- CSV export of every post's metadata
How it works
IG Grab uses Instagram's own public API endpoints — the same ones the Instagram website uses — so downloaded files are
the original, uncompressed versions, not re-encoded screenshots. Files are written to your browser's Downloads
folder.
Privacy
The extension does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data. No telemetry. No analytics. The only network
requests it makes are directly to instagram.com to fetch the content you ask for. A single session cookie header
(X-IG-Set-WWW-Claim) is cached in browser.storage.local so API calls don't fail — it never leaves your machine.
Permissions explained
- Instagram host access: to read pages and call Instagram's API
- downloads: to save files
- storage: to remember your preferences and the session header
- notifications: to tell you when a long archive finishes
- contextMenus: for the right-click save option
- webRequest: to capture the session header from Instagram responses
nothing leaves your machine, no third-party server, no account or sign-up.
