Ferna PDF Reader opens PDFs in Firefox with every page, portrait or landscape, fitted to the width of the window. It is designed for students, researchers and anyone who reads a lot of PDFs.

FEATURES
- Zoom (fit width, fit page, percentages) and page rotation from the toolbar or a small menu on the page
- Reference popups: clicking "Figure 3", "Table 2" or an equation number shows it in a floating window instead of jumping away
- Annotations: highlight, underline, strike-out, squiggly, area highlight, pen, marker, text boxes, notes and shapes. The tool panel hides itself as soon as you pick a tool, and a quick popup appears when you select text.
- Stylus like Xodo: a pen writes at any time without choosing the Pen tool, with smooth ink and palm rejection
- AI assistant that runs on your own computer (WebGPU) or on a local server such as Ollama: summaries with page references, questions about the document, study quizzes
- Password protection (AES-256 / AES-128) and standard PDF annotations that open in every PDF reader
