De-Pill Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 18, 2026
De-Pill is a browser extension that reduces excessive CSS corner radii on websites. Its processing happens locally in the browser. De-Pill does not operate a developer server and does not collect, sell, rent, share, or transmit user data to the developer or to third parties.
Information De-Pill handles
To provide its visible, user-facing function, De-Pill processes the following information locally:
Rendered website structure and presentation data, including element metadata, computed CSS corner radii, visibility, and geometry. This information is used only to decide which corners to restyle. Page content is not recorded or transmitted.
The current website hostname. This is used only to apply the user's per-website enablement and corner preferences.
User preferences, including the global corner treatment, circle protection, website overrides, and exclusions.
Preferences are stored with browser-managed extension storage. Chromium builds use the browser's sync storage API, so the browser vendor may sync those preferences through the user's browser account according to the vendor's own privacy policy. Firefox builds keep preferences in local extension storage and do not transmit them. The De-Pill developer does not receive or have access to preference data on either browser.
Data collection and sharing
De-Pill:
has no analytics or telemetry;
makes no network requests to developer-controlled or third-party services;
does not collect browsing history;
does not retain website content;
does not use data for advertising, profiling, creditworthiness, or unrelated purposes; and
does not sell or transfer user data.
Permissions
De-Pill requests access to websites so it can inspect rendered CSS and apply the user's selected corner treatment. It requests the storage permission solely to save user preferences and, on Chromium, allow browser-managed synchronization. These permissions are not used for any unrelated purpose.
User control and retention
Users can change or remove website overrides and exclusions from the extension popup. Preferences remain in browser-managed extension storage until the user changes them, clears the extension's data, or uninstalls the extension. Chromium preference copies may additionally be subject to the browser vendor's sync behavior.
Chrome Web Store Limited Use disclosure
The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. De-Pill uses locally processed website information only to provide its disclosed corner-restyling feature.
Changes and contact
Material changes to this policy will be published in this repository with an updated effective date. Questions or privacy requests can be submitted through the project's public GitLab issue tracker.
