Dark Background Anti-Flash Autor: David

Dark Background Anti-Flash reduces sudden white flashes on bright pages by using a temporary dark overlay that fades out smoothly. It does not override Firefox’s native New Tab page, and lets you tune page-load and tab-switch transition timing.

  1. Install add-on on Firefox desktop.
  2. Open a new tab and confirm dark background.
  3. Open a bright website (for example a white-background page) and confirm dark preload + smooth transition.
  4. In Options, enable bright-site override and set custom color; reload the same site and confirm override.
  5. Add a hostname to “Always force custom color” and confirm it always uses the custom color.
  6. Add a hostname to exclusions and confirm the add-on skips that site.
