ChatIndex adds a Firefox sidebar to supported AI chat websites and turns long conversations into a searchable, navigable workspace.

On ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, DeepSeek, and Perplexity, the add-on reads the current conversation in the active tab, builds a live index of messages and sections, and lets you jump back to important parts quickly. It also provides full-text search, saved folders for organizing chats, Markdown/context export tools, import support, and a “Continue In” feature for moving context from one supported AI assistant to another.

Most data stays local in the browser. The optional “Share Chat” feature uploads only the conversation the user explicitly chooses to share so a short share code can be generated and loaded later.
