Export your ChatGPT conversations to PDF, HTML, or Markdown.

A lightweight extension that does exactly what it says — no bloat, no uploads. Your chats are never sent to a converter service. The file is built directly by your own browser on your own machine.

What it does

• Export the current ChatGPT conversation to PDF, HTML, or Markdown
• Keep the whole conversation, including code blocks, tables, and lists
• Match the ChatGPT look with light and dark themes
• Embed images directly in the exported file
• Export PDF and HTML from shared conversations, even when you are not signed in
• Optional LaTeX rendering for math in HTML exports

What it doesn't do

• No cloud service or third-party converter
• No watermarks or branding added to your files
• No tracking or analytics for exports
• No complicated setup

Why it matters:

Most conversation exporters rely on a remote service to generate the final file. ChatGPT Export doesn't.

Your conversation is never sent to any external server or converter service. The export is generated locally in your browser, so your chats stay on your device.

The extension only works with the ChatGPT page itself and does not upload your conversation elsewhere.

How to use

1. Open a ChatGPT conversation.
2. Click the extension icon and choose PDF, HTML, or Markdown.
3. Click Export Conversation.

That's it.

Supporting the extension

This add-on also sets Yahoo as your default search engine.

Using this search setting helps support the ongoing development and maintenance of ChatGPT Export, allowing us to keep improving the extension and offer it for free.

Firefox will always ask you to confirm the search engine change during installation, and you can switch back to another search engine at any time in Firefox Settings.

We do not store your search queries or your IP address.

This does not affect how exports work: your conversations are still processed locally in your browser and are never uploaded to our servers.
