ChatArchivr – Export & Save Your AI Chats Autor: Jake

Save the AI conversations that matter to you as files on your own computer, in one click.

ChatArchivr works on ChatGPT, Claude, Grok and Gemini. Open a chat, click Export, and save it as Markdown, PDF, JSON, HTML or plain text. Code blocks keep their language, and tables, lists, links and maths come through intact. Long chats are captured in full: ChatArchivr scrolls through the conversation and collects every message, including the ones the site has unloaded from the page.

ChatArchivr (spelled with no e) is an independent extension made by one developer in the UK.

What you can do
• Export the chat you have open to a file, with no daily limit and no watermark.
• Save a chat as a PDF through a clean print view (choose "Save to PDF" in the print dialog).
• Copy the whole conversation as Markdown, ready to paste into your notes or a document.
• Keep chats in a local library on your device. Search saved chats by title, filter by assistant, sort them, then reopen, export again or delete.
• See when the open chat is already saved in your library, and update it with one click.
• Export with a keyboard shortcut (Ctrl+Shift+Y / ⌘⇧Y; you can change it in the browser).
• Restore a ChatArchivr backup file you already have onto this device (your data is never locked).
• Use the optional floating Export button on supported chat pages, or switch it off in Options.

Private by design
• Everything runs in your browser. Your chats are not uploaded, and there is no account, analytics or tracking.
• It reads a conversation only when you click Export, Copy or Save. It does nothing in the background.
• It asks only for storage, access to the supported chat sites, and permission to run its own packaged code on those sites: to add its Export button to chat tabs that are already open and, when you click, to read long code blocks in full. It has no access to other websites, your tabs or your cookies.
• No ads and no affiliate links. It never changes your search engine or new tab page.
