Bookmark Intelligence Autor: eggR

Bookmark Intelligence captures Chrome and Firefox bookmark changes and sends bookmark names, URLs, and folder information to a locally installed Native Messaging agent.

The local agent extracts useful webpage text with trafilatura or YouTube metadata and captions with yt-dlp. It does not download videos. A configured Ollama model creates a compact summary, and the agent writes one Markdown note to the user's Obsidian Vault.

Privacy and hardware:
- Bookmark data is sent only to the user's locally installed Native Messaging host, not to a developer-operated bookmark server.
- Local summaries require Ollama or a configured AI API and hardware capable of running the selected model, such as sufficient RAM and preferably a compatible GPU.
- The extension does not collect website content through page scripts. The local agent may fetch the bookmarked URL when the user asks it to process the bookmark.
- The default local path has no advertising and no application daily quota.

Install the local agent separately from the GitHub release and configure the Obsidian Vault path.
