The original extension already implements click, type, evaluate, and fillForm internally. The problem is that its action dispatcher expects specific command names, so an agent sending differently named commands can fail even when the underlying operation exists.
I’ve prepared a patched AlphaCode Browser Agent 1.6.2 with the following changes:
- Command compatibility: Added normalization for common camelCase, snake_case, and kebab-case action names.
- Evaluation aliases: Maps eval to evaluate and accepts code, expression, or source when the usual script parameter is missing.
- Form-filling compatibility: Maps fill_form and accepts a values object keyed by CSS selectors, in addition to the existing fields array.
- Consistent command handling: Added matching aliases in the background dispatcher and page content script so commands remain compatible across both layers.
- Version consistency: Updated the extension version to 1.6.2.
These changes preserve the existing action implementations rather than replacing them with a new, less-tested automation system.

Refactored background/content communication with transport-only retries, automatic content-script recovery, and bounded iframe concurrency.
Expanded browser control: tabs, windows, navigation, reader mode, tab hiding, highlighting, pin/mute, succession, language detection, printing and PDF.
Added full bookmark management and one-click bookmark/PDF controls.
Expanded page inspection for buttons, links, forms, inputs, selects, checkboxes, radios, textareas, contenteditable elements, media, headings, tables, controls and outputs.
Improved Shadow DOM targeting and pointer/keyboard handling.
Improved tab/window metadata and supported update/create parameters.
Fixed tabs.query status filtering and multi-file script injection fallback.
Removed a duplicate print dispatch path.
Reduced unnecessary network telemetry noise.
Improved popup UI/UX, diagnostics and quick actions.
Updated README/version metadata to 1.6.0.
