ADm Connector Autor: Avarwand

Requires the ADm desktop application for Windows. This add-on does nothing on its own.

ADm downloads a file over as many as 32 parallel connections and reassembles it byte-perfect, resuming exactly where it stopped if the transfer is paused or interrupted. This add-on connects Firefox to it.

What it does

• Hands a download to ADm the moment you click a link, instead of letting Firefox transfer it
• Adds a Download button to any page that plays video or audio, listing the qualities it can find
• Detects HLS streams (.m3u8) and lets ADm fetch the highest available quality
• Passes the page address to ADm when a player exposes no direct file, so ADm can resolve the real stream itself

Permissions, and why they are needed

Cookies — read for the host the download comes from, so that files behind a login work. Webmail attachments and cloud storage are usually served from a different domain than the site itself and fail without the session for that host. Cookies are sent only to ADm on your own computer. Nothing is transmitted anywhere else, and the developer receives no data.

Access to website data — used to notice when a download begins and to find media on the page you are viewing.

Native messaging — the channel ADm listens on. ADm runs on your machine; no external server is involved.

Install this add-on
Start ADm once, it registers the connection automatically
