Keep your authentication codes close at hand. 2FA Local generates time-based one-time passwords (TOTP) directly in Firefox. Your accounts stay in an encrypted vault on your device, protected by a master password.

Features
- Quick access: Open the toolbar popup or press Ctrl+Shift+2 to find and copy a code.
- Easy setup: Add accounts manually, paste an otpauth:// setup link, or import a QR code from an image.
- Help when signing in: Associate accounts with websites to offer matching codes on login pages, with optional autofill.
- Flexible locking: Use a master password, enable an optional quick-unlock PIN, and configure automatic locking.
- Clipboard controls: Choose how long copied codes remain on your clipboard.
- Backup and migration: Export and restore encrypted backups, or export setup links for use with another authenticator.
- Personalization: Choose from multiple color themes.

Local storage and privacy

Your vault uses AES-256-GCM encryption. Code generation works offline, with no account registration, analytics, telemetry, or cloud synchronization. Your vault is not uploaded or synced through Firefox Sync.

Website access is requested when you enable the optional login-page features.

Keep a backup

Store your master password and authentication backups somewhere safe. There is no password recovery service. If you lose access to your vault and have no usable backup, you will need each website’s account recovery process.
