SandLab is a falling-sand cellular sandbox that runs locally in Firefox.

Paint materials directly into the world and watch them interact frame by frame. Sand falls and forms piles, water flows, oil can burn, fire spreads to flammable materials, water can turn into steam near lava, and plants can grow when water is nearby.

SandLab includes adjustable brush size, optional material reactions, pause and single-step controls, several starter scenes, and local save and load controls.

The simulation works without an account, network connection, or external service.
