Tempered Scale av hanhruiroc

Tempered Scale is an offline visual instrument in which the score is also the artwork. Place glass objects across a plate and let a line of light scan from left to right. Horizontal position controls timing, vertical position controls pitch, size controls duration, and shape controls timbre.

Orbs produce pure, short tones. Slivers create brighter sustained tones. Teeth create sharper struck sounds. The score can be played through the browser's local Web Audio engine and exported as a standard MIDI file containing the actual note-on and note-off events represented by the objects.

The interface deliberately avoids a piano roll. Musical structure remains visible as a composed field of glass. No account, advertising, analytics, remote assets, or network connection is used.
