Surf Shield protects you from the full malvertising chain — from the ad that opens behind your back to the malware installer at the end of it.

WHAT IT BLOCKS

• Ads & trackers — ~29,000 network rules built from AdGuard and EasyList/EasyPrivacy, plus handcrafted rules for popunder ad networks
• Popunders & popups — only one window per genuine click; fake clicks, hijacked new tabs, and hidden-iframe tricks are stopped
• Invisible overlays — full-page transparent layers that steal your clicks are neutralized
• Forced redirect chains — rapid cross-site redirects on shady download sites are cut with a warning page
• Phishing sites — lookalike domains (punycode, typosquats), IP-address hosts, machine-generated (DGA) domains, and domains from public threat-intelligence feeds (URLhaus, Hagezi, Phishing Army — updated daily)
• Clipboard-hijack scams ("ClickFix") — pages that secretly copy PowerShell commands to your clipboard while asking you to "verify you are human" are blocked with a clear warning
• Risky downloads — executable files are paused with a plain-language explanation: disguised double extensions (invoice.pdf.exe), fake installer names, ad-network delivery, threat-listed sources

HOW IT WORKS

Known bad domains are blocked outright; suspicious pages get a warning page you can bypass one visit at a time. Everything else you control from the toolbar popup: per-tab block counter, six protection stats, Trust/Block for any site, and a one-click VirusTotal lookup. Eight independent toggles in settings let you switch any protection off.

PRIVACY

Surf Shield collects no data whatsoever. No accounts, no analytics, no external servers of ours — the only network requests are daily fetches of public blocklists. All settings and stats stay in your browser.
