Semantic Shield helps you interact more freely with web pages you already have access to.

What it does

• Unlock actions — Restores copy, cut, paste, text selection, and the right-click menu by countering client-side JavaScript/CSS blocks on the page.
• Highlight fake close buttons — Marks dark-pattern close, cancel, or reject controls that are nearly invisible (very low opacity, tiny size, or hidden off-screen).
• Restore page interaction — Unlocks page scroll and clicks the page’s own close buttons on non-login, non-payment dialogs.
• Block ads & auto popups — Blocks script-triggered popups without a recent user click, removes junk meta auto-redirects, and hides bottom-right floating ad widgets.
• Unsubscribe assistant — When a lengthy email unsubscribe flow is detected, shows a sidebar shortcut to jump to the cancel page.
• Block list manager — Review everything auto-blocked. Restore an item (it stays visible until you block again) or manually block nuisances on the current page.

How to use

Install the add-on, pin the toolbar icon, and open the popup. All main features are enabled by default. You can turn each feature on or off, rescan the page, restore interaction, or manage the block list from the popup.

Compliance

• Removes client-side copy/right-click restrictions only. It does not bypass server-side login, registration, VIP, or paid subscriptions.
• Does not force-hide login or payment modals.
• Does not extract image/Canvas-protected content.
• Blocks nuisance ads and auto popups, not legitimate access-control screens.
• No data is transmitted to external servers. Settings and the block list are stored locally in the browser (storage permission). The manifest declares data_collection_permissions.required: ["none"].
