Overview

The RocketLinks browser extension enhances SEO tool websites (Google Search, Ahrefs, SEMrush, Majestic, SEObserver, ChatGPT) by displaying the availability of domains in the RocketLinks catalog. This policy explains what data the extension collects, how it is used, and with whom it is shared.

Data Collected

1. Domain Names

When you visit a supported SEO tool page with the extension enabled, the extension automatically extracts domain names (e.g., example.com) from links visible on the page. These domain names are sent to the RocketLinks API (www.rocketlinks.net) to check their catalog availability.

• Only bare domain names are sent — no full URLs, search queries, or page content.
• Results are cached locally for up to 3 hours to reduce network requests.

2. Referrer URL (on user action only)

When you actively click a RocketLinks button to open the sidebar, the full URL of the clicked link is sent to rocketlinks.net as a referrer parameter. This only happens upon explicit user interaction.

3. Error Reports (Sentry)

The extension uses Sentry for automatic error monitoring. When a JavaScript error occurs, the following data may be sent to Sentry:

• Error message and stack trace
• Extension name and version
• Browser and operating system information
• The URL of the page where the error occurred (as part of Sentry's automatic context)

4. Local Storage

The extension stores the following data locally on your device using the browser's storage API:

• Data from pages outside the supported SEO tools listed in the manifest

Authentication

The extension detects your login status on rocketlinks.net by observing HTTP redirect patterns on that domain. It does not read, store, or transmit your credentials. Your existing browser session cookies for rocketlinks.net are used by the browser automatically when making API requests.

• Disable the extension at any time via the browser toolbar toggle — this stops all data collection.
• Uninstall the extension to remove all locally stored data.
