Om denne utvidinga
Parallel Translate

Read with your native language. Learn in the language you’re studying.

Parallel Translate is a bilingual reading browser extension designed for language learners. It is not a simple full-page translation tool. Instead, it helps you build a connection between the original text and your native language on real web pages, making your native language a scaffold for understanding a foreign language. 📖

Once enabled, it can turn the main content of a web page into a sentence-level bilingual reading view. You can read the original text while using your native-language translation for support, helping you naturally build vocabulary, sentence patterns, and expressions.

Main Features ✨

🌐 Bilingual Web Reading
Turn foreign-language web pages into a bilingual parallel view, making real content easier to read.

📖 Sentence-Level Alignment
Display the original text and translation sentence by sentence where possible, preserving context and reducing the fragmentation of full-page translation.

🔍 Selection Definitions
Look up unfamiliar words or phrases directly on the page, reducing the interruption of switching to a dictionary.

🎧 Reading Support
Listen to words and sentences, helping you build a sound impression while reading.

🧠 Vocabulary Support
Mark and understand new words in context, so vocabulary learning stays closer to real reading.

Who is it for?
Designed for learners who already have some foundation in a foreign language and want to improve reading ability through real web content.

If you want to understand foreign-language articles without fully relying on full-page translation, Parallel Translate is a good fit for you. 🌱

It is especially useful for reading foreign-language news, blogs, documentation, articles, and learning materials.

Design Philosophy

Your native language is the best learning scaffold, not the final answer.

Parallel Translate focuses on one thing: helping you read foreign-language web pages better and truly learn the language through reading.

It keeps the experience minimal, quiet, and unobtrusive. It does not become a complex toolbox or add features unrelated to reading and learning. The less interface there is, the more attention returns to the language itself. 📝

Read with your native language. Learn in the language you’re studying.
