Om denne utvidinga
KeySlash is a fast, private text expander for Firefox. Save frequently used text behind short backslash shortcuts, then type those shortcuts in text fields across the web to instantly expand them into the full text.
For example:
KeySlash is designed to keep your data on your device.
Your snippets and preferences are stored locally in Firefox. KeySlash does not send your snippets or typed content to a server, does not use remote code, and does not make network requests.
To recognize a shortcut, KeySlash examines the relevant text immediately around your cursor. Password and one-time-code fields are deliberately ignored, and the examined text is not stored or transmitted.
Three sample snippets are provided on first installation so you can try KeySlash immediately.
KeySlash is free and open source.
For example:
\\gen → General Text for testing purpose- Expand anywhere — Works in regular text inputs, textareas, contenteditable editors, and supported editors inside iframes.
- Your own shortcuts — Create shortcuts such as
\\gen,\\sig,\\addr, or anything you prefer. - Configurable trigger — Use
\\,;,/, or another trigger character if you prefer. - Multiple expansion modes — Expand immediately, after Space/Enter, or only when you press Tab.
- Suggestion dropdown — Start typing your trigger character to see matching shortcuts and select one with the keyboard.
- Dynamic placeholders — Use
{date},{time},{datetime},{iso},{weekday},{day},{month},{year},{uuid}, and{cursor}in your snippets. - Import & export — Back up your snippet library as JSON, import it later, or transfer snippets between installations.
- Site controls — Turn expansion off globally or exclude individual websites.
- Usage statistics — Sort and organize snippets by shortcut, date, custom order, or usage.
- Light & dark themes — Choose the appearance that suits you.
- Keyboard shortcuts — Quickly open the snippet manager or toggle expansion without reaching for the mouse.
