list-it: take notes quickly! (listit,

Still works & looks mostly OK in Fx29 Waardering 4 van 5 sterren

The toolbar button images need an extra pixel height/width to look "right". The status bar button is gone (w/o using some add-on to bring the bar back), but using the Sidebars List extension gives easier access to the sidebar (and any sidebar for that matter).

Feed Sidebar

Lightweight goodness Waardering 5 van 5 sterren

All you need; nothing you don't.
(Actual rating: 4 and a half stars -- minus one half for sidebar buttons (padding) being to wide to all fit on default-width sidebar; easy to fix with CSS though.)

Sidebars List

Works fine with Firefox 29 and Australis, too. Waardering 5 van 5 sterren

Given that Mozilla removed the Bookmarks and History Sidebar toolbar buttons in Fx29, it's good that this still works. Thanks.

Classic Theme Restorer (Customize Australis)

Less ("use small icons") is more [space for content]. Waardering 5 van 5 sterren

Australis might just be the dumbest thing yet to come from Mozilla.

Edit Bookmark Plus

Almost perfect Waardering 5 van 5 sterren

Essential add-on whether you want to fix the bugs in Firefox related to the Edit Bookmark panel or whether you just want the custom sizing for lots of folders/bookmarks. I had only one small annoyance with it--the default panel [size] would pop-up first before doing a "quick-step" into one's custom sizing. I fixed this by simply adding a little CSS to make the panel the custom size regardless.

Tabs Always In Titlebar

Nice and simple Waardering 5 van 5 sterren

The only thing that would make it better is a similar function for scaling the height of the tabs. ;)

Most useful Waardering 5 van 5 sterren

I just want to thank the dev for an excellent *WINDOW* sizing extension that has nothing whatsoever to do with the viewport. :) I suppose having a viewport option (or separate extension entirely) might be useful for the extreme few that need/want that, but it would be irrelevant to me and the rest of the huge majority of users. The only additional feature I might want is being able to select the origin as well as the size, but it's easy enough to do with javascript, so... meh.

Space Next

Shortcut modifier question Waardering 5 van 5 sterren

Being able to use the space bar for scrolling and next page is nice I guess, but I find using PageDown and PageUp (and Home and End) to be more ergonomic (plus there was this conflict with using the space bar on Google Groups [edit:] which seems to have been resolved by Google having updated the Groups layout since many months ago--so, no more conflict[:edit]). So, I change the shortcut to use PageDown. However, this requires a modifier key be used (shift). Is there a reason why PageDown cannot be used without a modifier? (It's basically the same function as the space bar.) Couldn't you enable PageDown without a modifier? Thanks.

Waardering 2 van 5 sterren

No 'Make Scriptlet' menu item for bookmarklets /already in your Bookmarks/. I await further updates.

Being able to create a new scriptlet from the Add-ons Mgr. would be a basic feature--perhaps using Scratchpad (and some already existing bits of code a user might have for execution because certain commands were restricted from bookmarklets [will this add-on remedy that?]).

Contact Tabs

Finally... Waardering 5 van 5 sterren

Mozilla never got around to putting the Address Book in a tab, but this add-on--effectively--does that. Throws in some other useful stuff, too. Very Nice.

Very useful Waardering 5 van 5 sterren

Actual rating 4.5 stars (for storing data "outside" of Firefox).

May I suggest, instead of having 2 versions--one "regular" and one for Firefox Portable, just have one version with where data is stored being an option (much like other extensions do); or just always store it in the Fx profile folder (or a sub-folder therein, as almost all other extensions do) instead of the user's account folder.

Also, it would be nicer if left-clicking on the toolbar button opened the menu for selecting which clipping to insert (same as context selection) instead of the manager (which you can get to with a right-click).

InterfaceLIFT NewTab

Waardering 5 van 5 sterren

Would it be possible to limit the randomly generated gallery to a specific category (tag type + tag)? such as landscape? Thanks.

Cockpit Home Page

Just one "quibble"... Waardering 5 van 5 sterren

Except for forcing about:newtab onto the "Home" page, I like it. Most of all I like the Settings treatment. (Yes, I know you can hide the grid. I don't want to hide the grid. I just don't want NewTab there.)

How about adding Fx resident memory usage to your About Firefox frame? :D

Astronomy NewTab

Good idea Waardering 4 van 5 sterren

I've been going to APOD for a few years now by way of their feed. Having the add-on is a nice "extra". You should, however, add 'background-position:center;' to your CSS--some images are rather "tall" and one is left looking at the very top-most part of them (which typically doesn't show the object of the image). Plus, when the POTD is a video, something other than a blank page as the background would be preferable.

Feature suggestion: hover the left margin to hide the grid (to "reveal" the image--yeah, I'm aware of the toggle button, but that turns it off until you turn it on again; the "hide on hover" is just a mouse-move to the left while the toggle button is a move to the right + a mouse click to hide + another mouse click to restore, simpler to just hover for a temporary action :D )

Close Button

The simple things are often the best Waardering 5 van 5 sterren

I always liked the close button on the tab bar instead of the tab. Now I can have both. I place it to the right of the URLbar and make it look like my stop button (different for everyone):
/* Close Button ext. - like URLbar stop-button */
@namespace url(;
#cb-button image
{border:solid 1px #747f8a!important;
padding:3px 2px!important;}
/* drop the '-moz-' for Fx16+ */
#cb-button:hover image
{background-image:-moz-linear-gradient(#FBAC96,#E5816E 49%,#D56658 51%,#C15244)!important;}

bug582139 (Allow full customize bookmarks button)

Works great Waardering 5 van 5 sterren

One of my "must install" add-ons for every Fx install (wonder if Mozilla will *ever* fix this issue)--no problems with it at all... ever.

Deze beoordeling betreft een eerdere versie van de add-on (1.6).

Side Tabs

Works well Waardering 4 van 5 sterren

Looks like now I might be able to avoid those ugly Australis tabs entirely. :D Your planned color etc. options can all be done now with CSS--so simply providing that will help some users [who keep complaining about the bg color :D] right away (while you work on the UI). I think you really need to highlight the New Tab "button" in some way, esp. on hover.

The tab drop indicator doesn't work properly--you start dragging and it appears up on the Bookmarks toolbar and doesn't move (so, not "indicating" at all). I don't drag tabs much anyway.

(FWIW: the right side position option doesn't seem to work in Fx16beta--working OK now for the release update (16.0.1); don't know if that means you'll have to change something soon or if there's a bug there that they haven't fixed yet.)

Anyone who wants to customize their own installed version--colors and what not, feel free to use any code you find here:

UPDATE: Well, now that I've had a chance to try out all(?) of the several add-ons for "vertical tabs", I mostly prefer this one. It's the closest one to being what I want: simply making the horizontal tab bar vertical. And I say this in spite of its one major "sin": positioning itself on the right by reversing the normal browser, which takes EVERYTHING on the left and puts them on the right (big no-no). Anyway, all of them have some problem or other. This one's are just easier to work with [for now--I guess I'll check out the others again in a few months to see if they've "improved"]. So, whatever you do regarding your planned updates, please remember to just... Keep It Simple S*****. :D Thanks.

Space Next

"Warp" space, eh... Waardering 5 van 5 sterren

...well, works great when slogging through--uhhh, I mean browsing-- AMO. Hiding that big, blue field of "content" at the bottom of the page with this CSS helps make it quicker:

/* AMO: hide footer content when not hovered */
@namespace url(;
@-moz-document domain("") {

Findbar Favorites

Excellent idea... Waardering 4 van 5 sterren

both for the better use of generally wasted space and fewer keystrokes needed for repetitive searches. The appearance leaves a little to be desired--some formatting to make it look less like a single "run-on" string plus some visual feedback on hover could help (couldn't hurt). Possible feature suggestion: perhaps stacking n latest most recent searches?

Visited Link Supporter

Works well enough Waardering 4 van 5 sterren

Seems to work well enough, but I think having an option to limit it to text links (no image links) would be useful. And I agree that having the option to make it global (or simply to toggle the list between either a whitelist or a blacklist) instead of using a whitelist would also be good (and make it 5-star worthy).
