Over deze extensie
Notte turns bright, glaring websites dark — so you can read comfortably.
Born from necessity: the developer lives with a degenerative eye condition, and white screens can be genuinely painful for people with low vision, light sensitivity or eye strain. Notte was built first and foremost as an accessibility tool, and it will always be completely free: no ads, no subscriptions, no donations asked.
HOW IT WORKS
Notte doesn't just invert colours. It intelligently remaps every background to a deep, consistent dark tone and every text to a bright, readable one, always keeping a high contrast ratio (WCAG-friendly). Colours keep their identity — buttons, links and highlights stay recognisable — while photos and videos remain untouched, in their natural colours.
• Works automatically on bright websites
• Leaves sites that already have a proper dark mode alone
• Images and videos stay in full colour
• High contrast guaranteed — no muddy greys
• Simple on/off switch per website
• Large, readable controls designed for low vision
PRIVACY
Notte collects nothing. No data, no analytics, no tracking, no account. Your browsing never leaves your device. The extension only needs permission to style the page you're viewing.
GETTING STARTED
On iPhone/iPad: Settings → Apps → Safari → Extensions → enable Notte.
On Mac: Safari → Settings → Extensions → enable Notte.
Notte is open source (MIT licence). If a website doesn't look right, feedback is always welcome — it helps make the web more readable for everyone.
