Player for video door kvachikk
Touch-first video controls for Firefox on Android: seek from anywhere with a thumb, pick the quality the site hid, read subtitles the site paints itself, and warm the picture down for a dark room. No network access at all.

Over deze extensie
Firefox for Android's built-in video controls are a thin progress line and a play
button. Nocturne Player replaces them with controls built for a thumb.

Privacy
Nocturne Player has no network access at all. There is no fetch, no XMLHttpRequest,
no beacon and no remote URL anywhere in the source — a continuous integration check
fails the build if any of them ever appear. It asks for two permissions: storage, to
remember your settings on your device, and activeTab, so the popup can show which
site you are on. Nothing is collected and nothing is sent anywhere.
Scope
Built for ordinary sites that play video through a plain HTML video element. It
deliberately does not touch YouTube, Vimeo or TikTok — those ship their own player
layers.
Known limits

Controls
- Seek bar — thick and raised off the bottom edge. Grab it anywhere, not just
at the current position, and it moves with your finger. Slide your finger away from
the bar and scrubbing gets finer, so you can land on an exact moment in a long film.
The time you started from stays on the left, so you can always get back. - Tap anywhere to pause. The picture fades to grey while paused, like Netflix.
- −10 and +10 buttons either side of play, and a double-tap on either side of
the screen does the same. - Hold either side to scrub at 2x, forward or back.
- Pinch — the picture fills the screen from the start, with no black bars;
pinch to go back to the full frame and it snaps cleanly between the two.
Picture
- Night light — warms the picture to a comfortable amber for watching in the dark.
- Brightness, contrast and saturation — adjusted with + and − buttons, not fiddly
sliders. With everything at its default the picture is passed through untouched.
Subtitles
- Use the site's own tracks, or load an .srt / .vtt file from your phone.
- Adjustable size, and a sync offset for when subtitles drift.
Also
- Playback speed from 0.5x to 2x.
- Quality switching where a site offers several sources.
- Settings are remembered on your device.

Known limits
- Picture-in-Picture does not work on Android — Firefox has no PiP API there yet.
- Video quality usually cannot be changed: sites streaming HLS or DASH pick it in
their own code. - Volume is left to the phone's own buttons.
- There is no sound while holding to scrub.
