Nexload Browser Integration door Ahmet TAN

Send downloads and selected links from Firefox to Nexload, the desktop download manager for macOS. Requires Firefox 140 or later and the Nexload companion app on macOS 15 or later.

• Send a link from its right-click menu.
• Find supported file, magnet and .torrent links in the toolbar popup.
• Select and send up to 20 links at once, or copy detected links.
• Optionally capture browser downloads automatically or ask before sending.

Automatic capture pauses an eligible browser download during handoff. The browser download is canceled only after Nexload explicitly accepts it. If the app is unavailable or rejects the handoff, Firefox keeps or attempts to resume the download. Resume depends on the source and browser.

Browser integration and ordinary local direct downloads are free; no Nexload account or Pro license is required. Web Remote is a separate optional desktop feature. Supported debrid downloads require your own provider account and are subject to that provider’s subscription and limits.

Setup: install and open Nexload, then enable Settings → Browser Integration. Open this extension to check its connection status and setup guide. This release supports the macOS companion only, not Windows, Linux or Android.

Companion availability: desktop downloads are temporarily paused while we prepare the public launch. This extension requires an existing compatible Nexload installation for download handoff. Check https://nexloadapp.com/downloads for availability.

Data use: selected/downloaded URLs, filenames, page details and file metadata are sent to the local Nexload app through native messaging. Single-link captures can include matching authentication cookies and request headers for authenticated downloads. Bulk sends do not include cookies or request headers. The app contacts the selected download servers and any configured provider. There is no extension advertising, tracking or analytics service.

Firefox requests the required capture-data permissions at installation. Optional technical-data consent controls browser/extension metadata and User-Agent sharing; declining it does not disable capture. You can change that choice in Firefox’s Permissions and data settings.

Experimental media buttons are off by default and support direct, non-DRM audio/video files only. YouTube and protected streaming services are blocked; this extension does not bypass DRM.
