EchoArchive is a sophisticated Firefox extension for preserving the ephemeral web, transforming fleeting browses into a robust, searchable personal archive. With one keystroke (Ctrl+Shift+S) or popup button, it captures comprehensive snapshots: full page title, URL, truncated body text (up to 5k chars for efficiency), up to 5 key images (src URLs), and metadata like timestamp and user-added tags. Archives persist across sessions via chrome.storage.sync, supporting unlimited entries without bloat—each snapshot is lightweight JSON for instant recall.
The heart is the popup: a sleek, scrollable library in your chosen theme (dark cosmic black with cyan accents or light minimalist gray). Search bar filters by title, text, or tags in real-time; each entry displays as a hoverable card with title, formatted date, and tag list—click to expand (future: full viewer). Export all as JSON for backups, or per-entry as PDF via pdf.co API (key in options page for pro exports with images rendered). Add tags post-capture via right-click context menu (implement in v1.1), and timeline sort views chronologically for historical reflection.
