The newly added icon matrix interferes with other hotkeys. The option to disable it does not work for me at all, the 'tick' there does nothing to disable it.

I'm not able to reproduce this bug. Checking the "Disable icon grid" option prevents the icon grid from appearing. If you're still encountering this bug, then please open an issue on GitHub and detail which OS and firefox version you're using as well as the steps taken to produce the bug. Thank you.
