av GeorgeA, 6 år sidenQuite possibly the best Addon for Firefox Quantum I've ever used!
Everything about it is intuitive, and I have deleted some previous "save tabs" type of Addons that this easily replaces.
I honestly could not imagine not having it now I have discovered it, and it genuinely enhances the whole Firefox browsing experience. Big thanks to the developer, Josh.
I also love the way the "unstashed tabs" part works, whereby each tab you open starts to appear in that section. You then just use those tabs, or if you run out of time, you stash them and they appear underneath. Close the browser, and they are there next time.
I have combined this Addon with "Copy Tab URLs" and also "Paste and Go", and between these three Addons, you have an amazing way to save and utilise all your tabs. I absolutely love it!! :)))
UPDATE: (9 months later)
Hey Josh, still probably my most favourite Addon for Firefox ever!
But there is something.....I found now that there are quite a few tabs I've deleted, and its great to see them able to be brought back, from your deleted list. But what seems to be missing, is the possibility to delete ALL in one go, rather than have to go to each tab and finally/fully get rid of it. I realised that you could set a tiny amount of time for "keeping" deleted tabs, so I guess you could say this way they would not build up too much, but it would still be great to see that list of deletions, and just click a "delete all" button. Otherwise, still loving your extension and all the recent improvements. Thanks!

postet 6 år sidenHi George, thank you so much for the kind words! I'm happy to hear Tab Stash has made your Firefox experience better, and I'm glad you've found it easy to use so far. Thanks also for sharing the references to the other two extensions you mentioned, I'll have to check them out for myself! -- Josh

Slow to save 1960 open tabs, no language available support (Italian)Utviklerrespons
postet 12 dager sidenTab Stash doesn't save blank tabs by design, though you can explicitly save them using drag-and-drop, selection, etc in the UI. The reason being, most of the time, these tabs are just clutter.
And yeah, I hear you on operations involving lots of tabs being slow—unfortunately, most of this is due to Firefox. I do try to keep Tab Stash's performance as high as it can be, but there's only so much I can do if Firefox itself is slow.
Also hear you on the language support. It's a really big effort to even get Tab Stash ready for translation into other languages, and it's been on the list for a while now. I do hope to get to it one day (and patches from others are always welcome).
Thanks for the feedback! - Vurdert til 4 ut av 5av Nana, én måned sidenGreat app and EXACTLY what I needed as other tab management apps couldn't deliver in terms of management, separation and stability. That being said, I would really love it if there was another way to rescan for titles and headers AFTER importing tabs from URLs. Some of them seem to have failed as I was moving them and the only option to retry the scan is just to retrieve the icons (which it already has so the button does nothing.) Unfortunately, I don't have a github account to reach out with this complaint.

postet 24 dager sidenThanks for the review! A quick hack for doing this is to open the tab that failed during the import, then click the yellow "Edit" button next to the stashed tab that appears when hovering over it, and clear out whatever title Tab Stash had given it before. Tab Stash will then pick up the title from the open tab.
Hope this helps! - Vurdert til 5 ut av 5av jI, én måned siden

Yes the setup is a wee bit confusing but once that was sorted I managed to get it working exactly how I wanted it too. This should be a base firefox feature, Idk why it is not already (needs to be part of firefox view).
The only one thing I would like to see (other then it being part of firefox view) is the ability to select multiple tabs in a stash and export them to a file (for sharing else where)
Edit: the dev responded and I am embarrased I missed the setting to import and export, It literally is the exact addon I was looking for. Now my firefox actualy loads fast.Utviklerrespons
postet én måned sidenI'm happy to hear it's working well for you! There is indeed an export feature, it's hiding in the "..." menu for each folder (or the main menu next to the search box). You can choose from several formats and copy/paste into the location of your choice.
Sorry to hear the setup was a bit confusing, if you'd like to chat more about it, feel free to open an issue on GitHub. And thanks for the review! - Vurdert til 5 ut av 5av PO_IS_ON, 2 måneder siden

- Vurdert til 1 ut av 5av Firefox-bruker 19291583, 3 måneder sidenIt is processing tabs, one by one. So when stashing tabs it takes ages.
Firefox allocated 8GB of RAM and crashed (I have few thousands tabs opened).
It is storing "stashes" in a bookmarks which is good.
When tabs are finally stashed, then it is using about 500MB of RAM just to show a list of "stashes".Utviklerrespons
postet 3 måneder sidenThanks for the feedback—it is true that Tab Stash currently doesn't handle thousands of OPEN tabs (in the same window) very well. However, it is known to handle large sets (tens of thousands) of STASHED tabs quite well, with minimal memory usage, and I've put quite a lot of work into making sure it stays that way.
The 500MB of RAM you're referencing is likely because you have thousands of tabs loaded in the UI from when you first stashed your open tabs—this will normally be much smaller because UI elements are created only when they need to be shown.
As for the one-by-one processing of tabs, that's unfortunately a limitation in Firefox's bookmarks API. Having lots of parallel bookmark operations running can mess up Firefox Sync and cause other problems in the bookmarks database. - Vurdert til 5 ut av 5av Firefox-bruker 13978806, 3 måneder siden

postet 4 måneder sidenThanks for the kind words! I have good news, which is that there is already built-in export functionality. You can find it in the main menu or in the menu for any folder.
You can also use any built-in Firefox features or other bookmarking add-ons to work with the bookmarks in your stash, and Tab Stash will keep itself up to date! So feel free to use whatever bookmark backup tool works best for you. - Vurdert til 5 ut av 5av AEZ314, 4 måneder sidenI'm in love with this extension! Would love to see it on Chrome based browsers too (please port it, I desperately need it lol)

postet 4 måneder sidenThanks, I'm really happy you like it! A Chrome port is unfortunately very unlikely, because Tab Stash uses a lot of Firefox-specific things. Also, I am not a Chrome user, so wouldn't be able to provide good support for it. But it may happen one day, I won't say "never". :) - Vurdert til 5 ut av 5av frostbyte, 4 måneder siden
- Vurdert til 2 ut av 5av MyFirefox, 5 måneder sidenBe ye forewarned... do not jump right into this or any other open tab manager if you have a lot of currently opened tabs that you expect the extension to help you sort out.
My fault really, but intending to just look around, I hovered & then clicked to stash on a filtered selection. Not seeing a way to pause, cancel or undo; I could only let it run. How bad could it be?
It not only "stashed" the ~500 tabs from the filtered selection, but threw the other 3200 tabs in with. Then to my horror found that it put every single one of the 3700 tabs into "hidden tabs".
I only learned of this after a frantic race to shut down every other process & service on the machine to free up as much of the 32GB as possible, praying that Fx wouldn't crash.
It finally ended, and after wasting a bunch of time trying to find a solution, have now resolved to spending more time cleaning up the resulting mess than it would have taken without the help of the extension.
Badly needs an Undo. Badly needs Select/Unselect All on filtered lists. There's not even the ability to Tap-Space to keep selecting in a list, it's a slog of one-click-at-a-time. Badly needs a setting to only affect what is selected and don't mess with anything else.Utviklerrespons
postet 5 måneder sidenSo if I'm reading this right, it sounds like you were expecting "Stash all tabs" to stash only the tabs matching the search. That's a fair point; I've made a note to look into this further.
I'm afraid I don't really understand the rest of your post, though, because:
- When Tab Stash hides/stashes tabs, it's not going to use any more resources than before (i.e. your memory usage will stay the same or decrease), so I don't really understand why the rush to free up memory?
- There IS a single-click "undo" for an accidental "stash all tabs", which is to simply unstash the group that was created.
- You can select multiple tabs at once by shift+clicking, just like you would in Windows Explorer or Finder. There's no need to select each tab individually. (And yes, this respects filtering, so you can select an entire list of filtered tabs with one click and one shift+click.)
Anyway, I hope this helps, and if you'd like any more help, feel free to open an issue on GitHub! - Vurdert til 5 ut av 5av STAR CRIMSON, 5 måneder siden

postet 5 måneder sidenAfraid I'm not quite sure what you mean here; if you're talking about restoring tabs automatically after a browser restart, that's built-in to Firefox, and not something Tab Stash does. Otherwise, feel free to open an issue on GitHub and I'd be happy to chat with you further to figure out what's going on! - Vurdert til 5 ut av 5av Aoshi Shinomori, 5 måneder sidenI've been a Firefox user since ver. 2 and this is my very first extension review. It's an essential complement to get your bazillion tabs back after an unexpected error or closing the wrong window. Simple and easy to use, thanks Josh!

postet 5 måneder sidenGlad you like it! Unfortunately a Chrome port isn't likely any time soon because there are some unique Firefox capabilities that Tab Stash uses which just aren't available in Chrome. But I appreciate the interest!- Vurdert til 5 ut av 5av cehem, 5 måneder siden
