Why watch videos in an external player?
The overall experience is likely to be snappier, you make use of the player's filters (I've found some sharpening and noise can go a long way on sub-720p qualities), change the aspect ratio, and if you feel like a video is worth keeping, it can usually be extracted from a temp folder.
Media Player Classic BE
A light-weight player based on the original MPC and the MPC-HC projects. I used it for several years back in my Windows days, and preferred it to all the others on this list. A definite recommendation from me!
Haven't personally used this myself, but have heard great things of it's YouTube support. Check it out!
VLC Media Player
Cross-platform, self-contained video player. It's a great package overall, but I've found it to be a bit bloated.
Give it a whirl and see how it works for you!
The Fancy Image Links aren't always going to work what with all of the different combinations of CSS out there, so if you notice problems, feel free to fire me an email and we'll see if we can do something about it! :]
