The Pomodoro Technique is a time management method developed by Francesco Cirillo in the late 1980s. Named after the tomato-shaped kitchen timer he used as a student (pomodoro is Italian for tomato), it breaks work into focused intervals โ traditionally 25 minutes โ separated by short breaks. After four intervals, a longer break is taken. The method trains sustained attention, reduces mental fatigue, and makes large tasks feel approachable by turning them into a series of small, timed commitments.
