NoteYT adds a Markdown note-taking panel directly into YouTube's sidebar. Write rich notes (headings, lists, tasks, code) with the TipTap editor, pin notes to exact video moments, and build a live session timeline with one click (Mark button or Alt+M) while you watch.

Everything works across YouTube's page transitions (watch, Shorts, live), autosaves locally, and lives in a searchable notes library with per-video views, tags-free search, sorting, and export.

LOCAL-FIRST: all notes stay in your browser's local extension storage — no account, no server, no tracking. Optionally mirror every video to a real .md file (YAML frontmatter, clickable timestamp links) for use in Obsidian, VS Code, or any Markdown editor. In Firefox the mirror lives in a "NoteYT" folder inside your download directory, or use per-file Save dialogs to place files anywhere.

Permissions used: storage (your notes), downloads (writing the optional Markdown mirror), scripting + activeTab + youtube.com host access (injecting the notes panel into watch pages only).
