Learnalist Reader is provided by Learnalist AS. This policy explains how the browser extension handles information. The full Learnalist Privacy Policy is available at:

While the Reader side panel is open, the extension reads nearby visible text so it can follow what you are reading and let you explore words and sentences.

It also processes text you select, together with the page title, URL, and language, to keep Reader synchronized with the current tab.

This information is processed locally in your browser. Learnalist Reader does not automatically transmit webpage content to Learnalist, and it does not monitor browsing activity for advertising or analytics.


Reader may store the following information locally in browser extension storage:

• Your current Reader workspace and preferences
• Page and target language choices
• Cached vocabulary from your Learnalist library
• Authentication information when you connect a Learnalist account

Removing the extension deletes its locally stored information.


Connecting an account is optional. When connected, Reader communicates with Learnalist over HTTPS to synchronize your learning library.

A word, sentence, passage, meaning, or related learning content is sent to Learnalist only when you explicitly choose to save it. Content saved to your account remains available until you delete that content or your account.


Reader can open external services such as dictionaries, translation tools, search engines, and ChatGPT.

When you explicitly open a provider, the selected word or sentence may be included in the URL sent to that provider. For providers that use a prepared prompt, Reader asks you to copy and paste the prompt yourself. Each provider handles information under its own privacy policy.


Learnalist does not sell personal data, act as a data broker, or use Reader data for personalized advertising.

Information is shared only when necessary to provide a feature you request, operate and secure Learnalist, comply with legal obligations, or when you deliberately send content to an external provider.


Locally stored Reader information is removed when the extension is uninstalled.

Information explicitly saved to a Learnalist account is retained until you delete the relevant content or account, subject to legal and operational retention requirements described in the full Learnalist Privacy Policy.

Learnalist uses reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal data. Information exchanged with Learnalist is transmitted over HTTPS.


Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of your personal data.
