Hill Charts for GitHub ์ œ์ž‘์ž: Martin Lutter

Hill Chart for GitHub adds interactive hill charts directly to GitHub issue pages โ€” the same concept Basecamp popularized for visualizing project progress at a glance.

How it works

The left side of the hill represents "figuring things out" โ€” research, uncertainty, and design. The right side represents "making it happen" โ€” execution and known work. You add named points and drag them along the curve to show where each piece of work stands.
  • Open any GitHub issue and click the Hill Chart button in the issue toolbar
  • Add points for tasks or workstreams
  • Drag them along the hill to show progress
  • Click "Paste to comment" โ€” the chart is encoded into the comment form, ready to submit

Where data lives

Chart data is stored inside a regular GitHub issue comment. Nothing leaves GitHub โ€” no external servers, no API tokens, no accounts. The data travels with the issue itself, and anyone with the extension installed can see and edit it.

Features
  • Drag-and-drop points along the hill curve
  • Charts render inline in issue comments for anyone with the extension
  • Copy chart data to clipboard for sharing
  • Works on any GitHub repository (public or private)
  • No data collection โ€” everything stays in your GitHub issues
  • Lightweight, runs only on github.com
