Browser MCP Bridge connects your Firefox to a locally-running Model Context Protocol (MCP) server, letting an MCP-compatible client automate the browser you already have open.
What it can do:
โข Tabs โ list every tab (stable id, title, url) across all windows; open, switch, and close tabs.
โข Read pages โ accessibility snapshots, CSS-selector queries, text/HTML/attributes, page screenshots, and console logs.
โข Network โ capture per-tab HTTP requests including method, URL, status, content-type, and request/response bodies (great for inspecting JSON APIs).
โข Interact โ click, type, hover, select options, press keys, scroll, and navigate.
How it works: the extension is only a bridge. It connects as a WebSocket client to a server you run yourself on localhost (default ws://127.0.0.1:9010). No data is sent to any third-party or to the developer. If the local server isn't running, the extension does nothing.
Requires the companion server (open source):
โข PyPI: firefox-browser-mcp โ run with uvx firefox-browser-mcp
โข Source & docs: https://github.com/ICWR-TEAM/Firefox-Browser-MCP
Open the toolbar popup to see connection status and configure the bridge URL.
