Aura brings the glow of an Ambilight TV to YouTube in Firefox.
• Dynamic ambient light: the video's edges are split into zones, each casting its own ray of light — updated every frame by a WebGL engine, with an automatic lightweight fallback.
• Pixel-perfect black-bar removal: detects letterbox and pillarbox bars (even "dark grey" and very thin ones) and measures their edges at the video's full resolution — no leftover black lines, no cropped picture, no cropping of dark scenes.
• Colorful Firefox toolbar: takes the most vivid color of each scene — red, orange, yellow, green, cyan, blue, purple, pink — and switches with a quick, clean fade.
• Toolbar popup with quick toggles and a guide to all settings.
• Works in default view, theater mode and fullscreen, or lights up the whole page.
• Turns itself off on black scenes and reacts to bright moments.
• Presets (Cinema, Vivid, Soft, Focus) and full controls; shortcuts G (light), B (bars), H (zoom).
• Lightweight: does very little work while paused, on black scenes and once the bars are found.
