AlphabetSoup에 대한 개인정보처리방침
AlphabetSoup 제작자: Josh Hearne
Privacy Policy (available at https://alphabetsoup.app/privacy)
Effective date: March 1, 2026
Your data never leaves your device.
Everything you type, every custom word you add, every preference you set — it all stays in your browser's local storage. There are no servers receiving your input, no analytics tracking your usage, no third-party scripts, and no advertising of any kind.
What we collect
Nothing. AlphabetSoup collects no personal data, no usage data, and no telemetry of any kind. The application runs entirely in your browser. No data is transmitted to any server.
Local storage
AlphabetSoup stores your preferences — custom words, color settings, font choice, and theme selection — in your browser's local storage. This data exists only on your device and is never transmitted anywhere.
When you clear your browser data, your AlphabetSoup settings clear with it, because that is the only place they ever existed.
Browser extension
The AlphabetSoup browser extension stores your settings using the browser's built-in extension storage API. On Chrome and Edge this is chrome.storage.local; on Firefox this is browser.storage.local. Both APIs store data locally on your device only and never transmit it to any external server.
The extension reads highlighted text only when you explicitly invoke the "Read back with AlphabetSoup" context menu item. It does not monitor, record, or transmit any text you select on any page. The selected text is passed directly to the extension popup for parsing and is never stored or sent anywhere.
Third parties
AlphabetSoup uses no third-party analytics, advertising networks, tracking pixels, or data brokers. There are no third-party scripts loaded by the application.
The web app is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare may collect standard server access logs (IP address, request timestamps) as part of their hosting infrastructure. This is governed by Cloudflare's privacy policy. AlphabetSoup does not receive or store this data.
Account & identity
AlphabetSoup has no account system, no sign-in, and no way to identify you. We do not collect your name, email address, or any other personal information.
Open source
AlphabetSoup is open source and released under the MIT License. You can read the full source code, verify these privacy claims for yourself, or contribute at any time on GitHub.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially, the effective date above will be updated. As long as AlphabetSoup remains a local-only, no-account tool, this policy will remain substantially the same.
