YT Reader Mode transforms how you consume YouTube content by replacing the video player with YouTube's native AI Chat panel.

• Immersive Reader Mode — Toggle between video and AI chat with a single click. The chat panel expands to fill the player area for focused reading.
• Auto-activate — Automatically enters Reader Mode on videos with AI chat support (configurable in settings).
• Initial Prompts — Send predefined prompts like "Summarize the video" automatically when entering Reader Mode.
• Smart Timestamps — Click timestamp links in AI responses (e.g., 0:40) and the extension switches back to video mode at that exact point.

Once installed, visit any YouTube video with the "Ask" button. A new toggle button appears next to the Like/Dislike bar. Click it to swap the video player for the AI chat panel.


YT Reader Mode does not collect, transmit, or share any data. All settings are stored locally in your browser via chrome.storage.sync. Zero external requests, no analytics, no tracking.
