Privacy Policy
Last Updated: March 2026
1. Data Collection and Usage
Amazon Search Filter is designed with your privacy in mind. We do not collect, store, or transmit any of your personal data.
All data related to the extension's functionality—such as the products, brands, or sellers you choose to hide—is stored locally on your device using your browser's built-in local storage. Unlike many other extensions, there are no analytics, no external trackers, and no remote servers receiving your usage data.
2. Permissions Explained
The extension requires the following browser permissions strictly for its core functionality:
- storage: Used exclusively to save and retrieve your hidden product & brand preferences locally on your machine.
- *://*.amazon.com/*: Used to inject the filtering buttons onto the page and apply your hidden item preferences directly to Amazon search result pages.
The extension only activates on Amazon domains and cannot track your browsing history elsewhere.
3. Third-Party Services
We do not use any third-party analytics, tracking, or telemetry services. Your shopping habits, searches, and filtered items are completely private and never leave your browser.
4. Updates to this Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Because the extension handles data entirely locally, any future changes will likely just reflect new features or platform policy requirements.
5. Contact
If you have any questions or concerns about this privacy policy, please open an issue in the public GitHub repository for this project.
