Скажите, пожалуйста, какой дурак решил при запуске расширения лезть на fonts.googleapis.com, apishub.com и другие сайты и качать оттуда шрифты и прочую ерунду? Кто Вам сказал что у пользователя должен быть доступ в Internet? Обычно там где нужен REST Client его просто нет! И соответственно Ваш REST Client который не способен запуститься и работать в этих типовых условиях просто не нужен! Такое расширение должно молчать в тряпочку и работать, в не шарахаться по всему Интернету подгружая иконки и картинки..
